Google machine vibration and you will get lots of info.

Vibration is a symptom of a mechanical malfunction, so while there can be some effects of machine vibration, for the most part machine vibration is the effect.

Machine vibration is caused by:

Unbalance

Misalignment

Bearing faults

Rotor dynamic problems

Looseness

Rotor to stator contact

And much much more...

Follow what steve recommends and have a qualified knowledgable person check for any of the above possible problems. Or you can wait until the unit causing the vibration breaks down and then you will know what to replace. Of course you may need to replace the entire machine if extreme critical conditions are met. Keep a good fabricator handy.

Vibrator motors and shaker motors are added to many different "contraptions", such as for helping to separate different aggregate sizes, and to keep grit or other blast media freely-moving through a venturi-valve.

You don't want to do anything to reduce or minimize their actions.

Machinery Vibration is a huge subject a good place to start if you need some information on how to do analysis (but don't have a training budget :-) ) is to head on over to http://www,vibronurse.com/index.html. The VibroNurse site is full of free applications including a free vibration analysis chart type program and some other handy stuff its probably the best of the free sites although its a poor substitute of having a properly training CM engineer.
