It's a Sales process, not an Engineering one.

...and it's also commercially sensitive, which is why spreading it around on a global internet Engineering forum is not such a good idea.

Your craft must be relatively small.

The high-speed type motors (used with a reduction gear in submarines) were rated at 1370 horsepower and ran at 1300 rpm, pulling 2600 amps at 415 volts. (By way of comparison, an automobile starter motor runs on 12 volts at a maximum draw of around 45 amps.)

From FleetSubmarine.com

Good luck.

You'll need some technical literature, backed up with some type of supporting information.

That would be 45 amps running at no load, definitely not when trying to start an internal combustion engine where the stall current is in the range of 200 to 600 or more amps. Maybe the quoted 45 amps is the starting current on an electric start lawn mower.
