Touch Screen Prob

Hello,

our IR type touch screen dameged so we does not operate the screen so any other source for reparing or modification on it. On cpu we have available RS 485 , RS 232 , RS 422 Ports are available. We can Connect our personal computer & make chnages in it its possible ?

OR Which is the the procedure for interfacing the personal computer to touch screen on above communication port. we have also foppy/printer port.

Scrren is The Micronix InfoTouch is based on Infrared (IR) technology. It uses a grid of IR light beams in front of the display and detects obstructions of the beams

If it works the way the manufacturer's website indicates, the touch screen is an overlay on the LCD or CRT video screen. The pointer function is plugged into a PS2 mouse port.

Unplug the touchscreen from the mouse port and plug in a mouse. The video should not be affected, as it is transmitted through the monitor port. The manufacturer says you have to turn off the mouse acceleration setting to use the touchscreen, so you will probably need to turn that back on.

You might want to upgrade / convert to a capacitive or resistive type screen that will interface to any afore mentioned ports. It will have it's own software and screen / display can be configured easily by the operator.

AND, It may be significantly cheaper replacement than an IR model.
