"Brain Scanning" Lie Detectors

01/30/2006 11:22 AM

Two companies, Cephos Corp. and No Lie MRI Inc., have developed lie detection technology that relies on brain scans. The technology is called functional magnetic resonance imaging, or fMRI.

Don't get totally creeped out or become afraid that "Big Brother" will have greater access to your thoughts. As the article states:

"Nobody really knows yet whether it will prove more accurate than polygraphs."

Still, expect extensive debate between scientists, law enforcement officials and civil libertarians.

plant esp with lie detectors

01/31/2006 3:21 AM

interesting that after having made arrests on the evidence of plants (I believe an orchid plant was used) analyzing murder suspects through polygraph readings while attached to the machine, that it's still necessary to build another method of lie detection, My question now would be, Does the new machine detect brain evidence in plant life. Scratches brain matter
If so, a great advancement for evolutionary science would be made evident.
