Please-An Update

06/19/2020 8:13 PM

Back when the Covid-19 pandemic was in it's infancy, I remember SE provided a link to Medcram on their position on prophylactics to reduce it's spread by precluding the the spikes on the virus casing from delivering the virus to the cells. The video gave a convincing biochemical argument to suggest chloroquine and zinc-based compounds could address the problem. At the time, numerous physicians also agreed. The video on Medcram was freely available to the public. Now, I believe it has been removed from their site. I have followed the news and know there are significant issues with some of the studies condemning that approach as a prophylactic

I am interested in finding out how a well thought out approach failed. Is the assumptions of the Biochemistry in error or how it was applied in error.

This is a link to the medcram channel, as far as I know all the videos are still available...

Here is a link to the current trials testing Hydroxychloroquine and zinc as a prophylactic...As you may have seen in the news a flawed study disputing the effectiveness of this treatment was put out by some group claiming that it was causing deaths, that led to several clinical trials being cancelled, the study was retracted soon after, but the damage was done...

I believe this approach is still being widely used....President Trump announced that he was taking the drug as a preventative measure, and the opposing political party decided to oppose the drug for political reasons, this has led to a great deal of confusion among some people....

Some studies were published that claimed the drug had no effect and indeed posed a danger to those taking it, but it was later divulged that these were patients who were already in an advanced stage of infection, so naturally the drug would have no dramatic effect, the infection was already fully involved...

..." This study provides the first in vivo evidence that zinc sulfate in combination with hydroxychloroquine may play a role in therapeutic management for COVID-19."...

Many thanks for the update. I always felt that the approach given on Medcram was a good one and that the data review by "Lancet" [and which was accepted "whole hog" as accurate by the WHO was garbage]. I believe "The Lancet" was probably reacting to political pressure by the UK medical establishment.

I spent much of my career [in Engineering Research] making mathematical models and in data analysis and I know the pitfalls and that statistics can be made to say whatever you want.
