Yaskawa A1000 Current Detection Error

When i am trying to run the drive with motor without load it ramps up to 10 hz and as it reaches 11 hz DC bus over voltage alarm appears. and when with load the flywheel or the shaft that holds the load starts vibrating as if the bearings are not good but bearing are at their best. Tried autotuning the drive and I get the error ER-12 (current detection error), according to the manual it says either motor or control card is damaged. i verified motor and its cable its good, control card also seems to be good.

i tried connecting a smaller motor to check the operation and it works absolutely fine and ramps up to the frequency you feed. Voltages across the onput and output of the drive are ok.

Can anybody help me -- why is this occurring?

How did you verify that the motor is good? Did you measure the motor current when the error occurs?

Try just doing the Static tune, if you did the whole thing before. We assume the test motor you used had no mechanical load attached. That tells you it is likely something about the load that the drive does not expect, or really wrong motor parameters.

Check to make sure that you set the correct number of poles for the motor, having the right speed is not enough. Default is usually 4 poles, if you have a 6 pole or 2 pole motor connected, the drive will act funny.

In the case of a load with an odd speed-load characteristic, or setting a high speed regulator response on a load with lots of backlash or slop in the drive train, that can also create a problem.

The slip regulator may assume too low a slip for your particular motor, and expect counter-EMF before you even get the shaft to move. Recheck all motor parameters closely.

Try setting the regulator from sensorless vector to volts/Hz. That usually is a last ditch solution for a squirrelly application, and should make it work fine.

Sounds like your load has a mechanical harmonic at 11Hz, which creates a ripple in the DC bus. You may need to program that as a critical frequency so that the drive jumps over it quickly as it accelerates. Look up “critical frequency“ in the manual.
