Basically there is only one earthing ,you have to keep feet on earth . rules for earthing specs are different for type of application , electrical distributions , instrument gnd ,commercial utility , there functionality is same to provide path for current to flow , for protection of humans from excessive shoks , protect instruments from surge ,transients , short ckt . please be perticular to mention your self regarding your knowledge about the post , what application . this helps in establishing the answers you are looking for ....
