If we knew the microwave frequencies in (mis)use, we could calculate the permissible pitch of perforations in our tinfoil hats, thus providing adequate Havana syndrome shielding while allowing comfortable ventilation.

Talking about tin foil hats is fun. I would like to know why we are not putting RF signal level detectors in our government buildings in foreign countries. Sensors could be small and cheap. Microwaves can be focused rather well so there would need to be numerous sensors throughout the building, typically in offices and conference rooms frequented by the government officials that are typical Havana Syndrome targets. Signal strength data could be sent over the building's ethernet cables to monitoring/alarm equipment at the guard's desk or security office.

Some reports indicate that the physical injuries from Havana Syndrome can be permanent. When viewed from a 'government security" and "government officials permanently disabled" point of view putting RF sensors in government buildings seems like a trivial expense.

Tin-foil hats = (Faraday) cages.
