fslowjoe: Try http://www.dsireusa.org/index.cfm

This site has links to both Federal, and State programs. It's a lot of links and reading, but it may help.

Good luck!

KilowattO, i think this msg has been misconstrued, what i wanted to know was are there any grants or tax releif not that I want the FED to pay directly for this thing I want to build... You and I both know this is not all that expensive to build... 40 percent of my electricity is only about 35 dollars a month...but the grid releif times 25 or 30 homes on this system could help ...joef

You must keep in mind that today's Uncle Sam is fighting a very costly war and putting this nation into a huge deficit. It is not likely that under the current administration Uncle Sam will be able to find the additional funds required to make real and meaningful contributions to bringing self sustaining alternate energy to the general economy. It seems that if the trillion plus dollars that is being spent to fight the current war were to have been spent to distribute solar and fuel cells to our citizens and to begin the distribution of hydrogen infrastructure, we could be well on our way as a nation to energy independence. This outlook took us to the moon, it could have taken us to the hydrogen economy moon again had it been properly applied.

I might point out that, despite the lack of administrative support for the real needs of the people, health care, energy independence, proper education, etc., research has been continuing at a feverish pace and despite the funding shortfalls, real progress is being made. The hydrogen economy is just around the corner, long range electric automobiles are at hand, and cures for many of the diseases which plague mankind are in the process of development. The funny thing about the human being, regardless of the governments he may live under, his curious mind does find ways to improve life for himself and his prodigies.

If Al Gore had been rightly placed in office 8 years ago instead of Bush then we would have a head start on alternative energies and more of our tax dollars would be used to find a replacement for our dependacy on foreign oil. Instead we are using our resouces and our young soldiers to protect our dwindling oil supplies.

And Uncle Sam now has very powerful creditors that will again have a large say in what he supports or not. Over $20,900.00USD per family of 4 just for the war.

Is it in the Creditors interests? Not unless they own major stocks in it.

For a the Nay sayers, He who controls the purse strings set the rules. The bean counters have a say in your projects by the same.

So Machiavelli would find the issues in their interest and emphasize them out of proportion.

Leave it to the liberals to change a technical question into a political smear of the people who are trying to deal with religious maniacs on a mission from God. Please stop polluting our engineering site with this traitorous trash and report to Code Pink at move one.org.
