02/26/2021 5:16 AM

Hi, I am Arif an aircraft engineer. I just want to know how can I compare Din 660 standard with SAAB Standard 1970. Is there any document or PDF file that can help. Thanks

Eh?

  • "DIN 660 German Standard defines the characteristics like shank diameter, tail design, hardness, standard, size, tolerance, thread, materials, strength class and possible coatings or strength properties. DIN 660 Steel Rivets act as a releasable connection or fastening element for all types of components."
  • A <...SAAB Standard 1970...> looks like this:

Shouldn't that be Yellow SAAB Marine 1970 as in gone under, no reflections on the Beatles!

Hi, PWSlack,

Thanks to comment, to me SAAB STD 1970 is attached above. My question was 'What is the relation between DIN 660 and SAAB Std 1970, where to find that?' Can some one help me?

It is not possible to read it from here.

What sort of comparison is needed?

One can in principle compare anything with anything else.

What is unclear is the purpose of this activity, without which it is a futile one.

https://www.aspenfasteners.com/v/vspfiles/files/docs/Metric_DIN_660_spec.pdf

..."The 340 shared several manufacturing and design techniques that were used in Saab's military aircraft, such as the then in-development Saab JAS 39 Gripen multirole combat aircraft. One such technique was eliminating the use of rivets on the aluminium structures, using diffusion bonding instead, to reduce weight.[6] "...
