CARDEN SHAFT SELECTION

WHAT ARE THE VARIOUS METHODS OF SELECTING A CARDEN SHAFT WHICH IS PLACED BETWEEN AN ENGINE & A DYNAMOMETER?

  • Must be able to carry the torque meant to be tested for
  • Must be vibration-free -- dynamically balanced already
  • Must be short (limited space).
  • End splines to match Engine and Dynamometer.

Look for one from a car/Truck--maybe search some Junk Yard

Attention the Cardan connection generates a sinus variation in speed and torque.

You should take it into consideration when you analyse the results.
