Lighting Design

Design of lighting for factory area 57ft(B) x 80ft(L) x 23ft(H) and 60ft x 60ft x 20ftmachine shop and forgingshop respectivly:It needs Type of light fittings,Position of light fitting,wattage & height of light fittings for the above factory area considering energy conservation and all other factor.Detailed link can also be projected for viewing.Post your comments properly.

Dialux is a good software freely available for your purpose, down load it from dialux.com

You should consider using T6 lamps. They give a much better lumen output at around half the wattage. I have replace all of my 400w metal halide with 6tube t6 fixtures at substantial energy savings.

I have incorporated CONCAVIA Luminaries using High Intensity Discharge LAmps/Halogen Lamps and the Lux levels choosen for 2 rooms are 200 Lux.

Glare Rating = 25, and color renderding = 80.

The above picture gives you details about the luminary and also a brief summary of the rooms.

consider 300 lux as a level of illumination as par CIBSE LG-3 guide line and post the lay out from your dialux calculation for swaminathan, it will give him a real picture. HID is cost implecation better to consider T6.
