03/06/2006 9:22 AM

Welcome to a "sneak peek" article from the March edition of MotionControl Catalyst from GlobalSpec.

National Engineers Week may have passed, but here are the faces and bios of new engineers who will help to shape our future. Nominated by Engineers Week sponsoring societies, these engineers have typically been out of school for only two to five years. Even so, their work has already impacted society. take a look. Maybe you'll see someone you know, or someone could help your team.

New Faces

It's nice to see with all the doom and gloom about engineering students that there are still great engineers coming into the field.
Seeing them does make me feel like a slacker though.

Young Engineers

It's amazing how Reena Singhal got her BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, BS in Biomedical Engineering and MS Electrical and Computer Engineering all in the same year, 2000. Has she mastered time travel?

There are smart "kids"

The media is consitantaly bombarding us with stories about how terrible the education system is and how stupid our children are. It's nice to see that there are some at the top end who are advancing strongly. Heck, I just came across this article about a kid who can recite 8,784 digits of Pi.
