Aluminum structural profile needed for IT kiosk

03/07/2006 7:03 AM

I'm looking for an Asian or European provider of structural aluminum molded profile products to create the two side-legs/frame pieces for an Internet or IT kiosk (the new futuristic style ones with shiny surfaces and wavy style-lines). Anyone had any experience with good suppliers with quick turnaround on the protos and production?

HI Dave, Canada qualifies if you have the product and the delivery and the price :) Do you already ship internationally? I can point you to some examples on teh web of what other peopl ehave made and we want something similar but (clearly) it has to be unique to us -- we cannot copy other people's designs exactly. If you already have intenrational shipping experience (we would have all goods sent to Russia via Helsinki in Finland, where we have a customs agent) and feel that you can deliver the goods, let me have a web site link to look at some of your stuff. Thanks for your response. Regards, Peter

I am not the manufacturing engineer, so if this becomes heavily technical in terms of 'manufacturing', I will pass you on to them. We plan to implement serial production this year, using about 500 pieces per month. We have facilities to cut and bend -- generally, assume that we can do cut and bend ourselves, or receive them already processed. I can provide accurate drawings later, but for now, assume that the stand is about 2 metres high, 600-700 mm wide and 400-500 mm deep. We require the two side profiles (2m x approx 20mm thick x 400-500 deep) to use as the basic frames which support the front and back covers and the connection frames to holds the two side profiles together. We also require framing materials (aluminium, probably) to connect the side profiles by forming a frame. We are in St. Petersburg (Russia) and would have all products shipped to us through our freight forwarder in Helsinki, Finland. Perhaps this gives you a further idea. Please advise if you wish to receive further information.

Please provide a link to a website to display some of your services and products. This is necessary before I provide detailed drawings. Thanks and regards, Peter
