Frequent PROFIBUS Handshake Error

Hi..all seniors

My automation equipment often encounters Frequent profiBus Handshake error! We suspect that data cable is too long?! we r not sure ... does anyone encounter this b4 and any idea what might be the root causes? thanks in advance..

I have had issues with kinks, interference, and connectors not fully engaged.

¿How long is your cable?

¿Do you have any profibus repeater in between?

I am no longer in that plant where I had the issues, therefore cannot give anymore detail.

i don't have signal repeater installed.. my signal cable length should be around 20m long...some engineers said that if your signal cable is less than 300m, u don't need signal repeater or conditioner!!??? is that true??
