FIBRALUR: Wood Shavings and Organic Substrates

Researchers at the Public University of Navarre have developed an organic substrate made of wood shavings that can be used for intensive crop growth in containers. In addition to being recycled, this substrate is more cost effective than imported products such as peat and coconut fiber. Even better, the new FIBRALUR substrate encloses 90% of the air, boosting the amount of oxygen that can reach a plant's roots.
