Improving the Tint of Carbon Black

12/06/2007 12:18 AM

I am using carbon black as a color in Crosslink EVA. My sheets after curing are dull in color i want to improve blackness keeping in view cost factor. Can any one suggest how to Improve the tint of carbon black without reducing the expansion part.

Do I have to add some color to carbon black to improve tint or any other way out.

I understand the product to be a "foam". Could it be the surface condition making it appear dull? Is it extruded or molded? either way, perhaps looking at mold surface condition or mandrel condition could help.

I also saw a link that stated that scorching may be an issue. Are heats in the right ranges?

I used to work for a plastic packaging company, and found that the night shift would load the black colorant to be sure they did not drift light out of spec. This allowed them to ignore the black lines. They would also speed the process to make efficiency look good. The result was overloaded color in the parts, that we cooked due to the added heat due to shear in the barrell. The high temp and color concentratin killed the appearance of the parts, and also made them more brittle as the polymer chains in my PP were broken down.

Shandong Bestar Carbon Black Factory, the National Owned Enterprise, produces New Technology Carbon Black. All the exhaust gases generated during the production are exploited to generate thermal power, realized the harmonius unity of economic efficiency and environment protection.

The factory is design 200,000 tons annual capacity, to be covered in three phases. The second phase has been successfully put into production, annual carbon black production capacity has reached 120,000 tons. We mainly produce N210, N220, N234, N326, N330, N375, N539, N550, N660, and other various types of rubber carbon black. With excellent product quality, stable production technology parameters, reasonable prices, our carbon black has won praise from customers home and abroad.
