I think it has more to do with how the cable wires are run than size....

I think cable trays are used with light duty and ladder systems with heavier cable.... In any case you need something to hold the cables in place...

So it's the nature of the installation that dictates the use of cable cleat type and specification...

From different cable cleat or clamp manufacturers the minimum cable diameter is 10 or 12 mm.

See for instance www.cmp-products.com cable cleat or id-Technik for cable clamps.

They can be used on any cable size. You get various cleats to suit any cable diameter. And they can be plastic, metal, or wooden cleats. Is it for HV/MV or control cables?

All cable runs need to be secured or confined in movement, now whether that is a cleat or a wire tie or some other method, depends on the AHJ locally...absent that, just use some common sense....

Mr. Abdullah. Simply put, there is NO Minimum. You can use cleats on 2mm2 if you wish or you can use cleats on 2000mm2 cables if you desire. It's that simple.

The <...we...> will have been given cable specifications to work with. Simply select the smallest cable from the specification as regards sheath diameter, and the question is answered.

The specifications cannot be seen from here.
