Shortage of Rare Earth Minerals

09/15/2021 8:32 AM

With a shortage or rare earth minerals looming on the horizon, and China holding most

of the cards in the game,I would expect Russia and China to snuggle up to

Afghanistan, regardless of the type of government, for the valuable mineral resources

in their mountains.

Their mountains are full of rare earth minerals, according to what I have read.

They are sitting on more monetary value than the middle east has in oil.

Wait and see.

Well, according to 99% of make-believe scientists, Neodymium and other Lanthanides will save us from the CO2 beast of Apocalypse. (Not sure if it's the one from the abyss or the one from the earth, but the 666 is there in the Carbon atom 6 protons mostly 6 netrons and 6 electrons It's just that St John forgot to add the two Oxygens' worth to the number. Like 666888888 (LOL)) So all should be OK. Price driving global demand is justified. Even if fully talibanized nowadays. And not only by talibans. No? Mmm... False flag needed urgently. Why not China? Their turn. S.M.

"Lately college parties never produce sexy European girls that drink heavily even though you look"

..."Despite their name, rare-earth elements are relatively plentiful in Earth's crust, with cerium being the 25th most abundant element at 68 parts per million, more abundant than copper. All isotopes of promethium are radioactive, and it does not occur naturally in the earth's crust; however, a trace amount is generated by decay of uranium 238. They are often found in minerals with thorium, and less commonly uranium. Because of their geochemical properties, rare-earth elements are typically dispersed and not often found concentrated in rare-earth minerals. Consequently, economically exploitable ore deposits are sparse (i.e. "rare").[5] The first rare-earth mineral discovered (1787) was gadolinite, a black mineral composed of cerium, yttrium, iron, silicon, and other elements. This mineral was extracted from a mine in the village of Ytterby in Sweden; four of the rare-earth elements bear names derived from this single location.

According to chemistry professor Andrea Sella, rare-earth elements differ from other elements, insofar that "rare-earth metals, when looked at anatomically, seem to be inseparable from each other, in that they are all almost exactly the same in terms of their chemical properties. However, in terms of their electronic properties, their magnetic properties, each one is really exquisitely unique, and so it can occupy a tiny niche in our technology, where virtually nothing else can."[2] For example, "the rare-earth elements praseodymium (Pr) and neodymium (Nd) can both be embedded inside glass and they completely cut out the glare from the flame when one is doing glass-blowing."[2] "...

I wore Neodymium glasses while doing laboratory glassblowing, just over 60 years ago. That property of Neodymium glass has been known for a long time!

Yes,they may be everywhere, but they need to be in sufficient quantities to be

profitably mined and refined.

Ocean water has gold and lots of other precious minerals in it,but it is not commercially

feasible to extract them except, obviously where rivers drop out their nuggets when

they enter the ocean.

I wonder if they will be interested in Cornwall?

Indeed their mountains arr full of REE, and there are 500kg giants in Iran who live in caves and eat America soldiers according to searches. But luckily the US troops killed one giant and brought it back to the USA for further research.

He must have been a rare earth miner protecting his claim.

There is no shortage at all, logically we just decided to use minerals that were not abundant or as freely available on planet earth in the first place. But the Chinese seem to have plenty and they don't say how much they have in reserve. They say it is laying around in rice paddies, waiting to be harvested.

Maybe the race is on for the west to have a magnetic relationship with Afghanistan and make peace with the giants, (don't shoot them dead), and gain some unobtainium at a good price. But then, do giants actually need money?

You obviously discovered the meaning of her name.
