Need advice on selecting Streaming recorder

I just cut the cable vision tv cord.

I have Amazon Prime,and it is good for a lot of things,but not everything my wife wants.I have looked on line for recording devices for OTA and Streaming but cannot find one that suits my needs.

I want to record streaming movies and news from the net, and be able to schedule the recordings.

I realize the OTA recorder may have to be a separate device,but it would be nice to have an all-in-one solution.

Thanks in advance for all help on this matter.

Most of the streaming channels I have are on-demand, and youtube has a lot of stuff, I think I watch youtube more than anything, they have news, movies etc......I have more dvd's than I can count....I do have a screen recorder that will record what you're watching, but I seldom use it...

Interesting. I think I know what your asking for, and after searching, it seems a screen recorder, is the best one can do, right now. "Stream ripping" has not been legally settled yet. I guess the way around it, is screen recording, for now.

I too, would appreciate a program, which would download and save a streaming show for me. In the background and only requiring download time. If that's possible.

I have two youtube downloader programs on PC which work well. It would be nice to have such on the streaming sites.

In the mean time, for binge watching, I download torrents, and watch on tv via thumb drive.

Bypassing the interaction required while binge streaming. Such as audio mutes for commercials and answering "are you still watching" questions.
