Falling ball rocket launcher

03/12/2022 8:16 PM

Years ago,I don't know how many, time flies, you know, there was a program on cr4 that had a falling ball, bouncing off of various targets, and the object was to hit the rocket launch button before time ran out.Does anyone remember that game, and if so,can it still be downloaded somewhere?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

I think I remember it, but the one I'm thinking of might have been something completely different.

As I recall rather than having to launch the rocket before time ran out, you had to arrange lots of "blocks" so that the ball remained in the game area for as long as possible before launching the rocket.

There were "tricks" you could do: like creating areas that were "difficult" to get out of, but, easy to get back in to. Of course there had to be route which would allow the ball to launch the rocket: the trick was to make that route very unlikely.

Was that the one? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks for the links, but none are what I am looking for.

The game applied real physics principles to the ball, speed of gravity, etc.

It could not fall straight down, but had to bounce to get to the bottom.

It was,in a way, a physics lesson on falling objects.

It was almost like a pinball machine, except with control of each obstruction in the path.

I think this was it

https://www.globalspec.com/brainstrainer/

Unfortunately it required Flash which is no longer available.

Yes definitely the one I remember

It was fantastic fun, and, a huge time waister, especially when you got up to setups that took several days to launch the rocket.

That was a very interesting game, and the variations to the path of the block were endless.Never got tired of it. With everyone staying home more than ever it would be nice if someone rewrote the program for modern software.

It's comforting to know that the combined talents of Engineers across the globe can come up with solutions to problems like this.

Brain Strainer. Still available here at GlobalSpec.

1) Scroll to the bottom of this page, select Site Map.

2) At the very bottom of the site map are the two games, Brain Strainer and Trebuchet.
