I'd like to know if there is a site that inform the WEIGHT of all kind of SMD electronic components (Resistors, Capacitors, diodes, Transistors, IC's, etc...). Thanks. Luiz
You have my curiosity also. We never weighed them, just increased the Pick-n-Place machine speed until it started to throw parts and backed it down until we got maximum throughput. Messy but fast in the short term.
I would think an optimization program given available nozzles, nozzle sizes, and parts to place and part weights could give a ball park figure (Good Guess).
just a thought

If you are interested in special parts then refer to the manufacturers datasheets. In their ROHS data, they list
every milligram of something in order to show that their products are
really "green" (whatever this is .....) and are lead-free, have no cadmium or whatever the
requirement is.
If you only want a common information ("whats the approx. general
weight of a 0207 Melf resistor?" **) then you find the weight mostly in
the dimension-section or under "tape and reel" informations.

Thanks Uweka, maybe this tip can be the most usefull way to find the components weight. I've been looking for the weight by Data Sheets, but I didn't find it. Maybe in Rohs section I can find the information, cause in Packaging section and Dimension section I couldn't find the information. B.R. and Thanks all for helping. Luiz
I ordered a pack of 5000 805 resistors and capacitors off ebay and the whole lot of them (even with little ziplock bags for each value) fits easily into the palm of my hand...I'm sure the plastic bags weight more than the hundred or so units in each bag.
With my soldering skills (or paste depositing skills) I'm sure there's more solder weight on the pcb than device weight!
