Does a screw Jack induce transverse power

After installation of an anti-rotation key, will a screw jack induce transverse movement at the fixing point of the body of the screw jack?

I believe the idea of the keyed design is to prevent any movement of the body of the jack...so hopefully not...

Do you mean from the load on the sloped helical screw? There would be a component trying to rotate the screw, but think of a worm drive--most are not reversible. Similarly, the load on a screw jack will not rotate the screw.
