LiquidPiston will deliver a 25-hp heavy fuel rotary engine to the US Army in 2024 for evaluation. What do you think of this technology?

It looks promising, similar to Wankel only inside-out, solving some of Wankel's problems.

There is some good information here.

Looks like a total scam....They don't even have a working prototype...we see these new type engine announcements every few years, none of them work well, if at all....A lot of big claims and not even a video of the thing in action, smoke and mirrors...always looking for investors...

I asked for a description and operating principles. We'll see what arrives.

It looks like a significant improvement on the Wankel. That should be obvious if you analyzed it. It has all the advantages of the rotary style combustion/expansion engine with far fewer sealing and wear issues. It's not perfect but it is definitely an improvement.

The Wanker engine, including the Mazda version, always ends up with the same problem. The compression "seals" between the rotors and crankcase fail early and often giving an unacceptable level of compression gas blow-by netting a loss of HP and a gain of exhaust pollution.
