A Unique Watch

11/30/2023 3:59 PM

A long time back I remember seeing an advert and discussion about a very expensive unique men's wristwatch [only a few were constructed (they were handmade)]. The case was round and about 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch deep; the interior was dish-shaped and basically of all gold construction. It 's unique quality was the crystal lifted and a dish-shaped subsurface reflected a 3-dimensional image on the crystal; the image was of whatever small object was placed on the dish beneath the crystal. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Yes, the Christophe Claret Aventicum watch with mirascope dial....I have the toy version with a frog, very cool effect....

The floating head appears to float above the surface of the crystal...

Interesting. I've seen the mirascope but not a miniature inside a watch!

Thank you so much. I have been trying to locate this watch source for some time.

SE, you mention a toy version of the Mirascope. Where did you get it from?
