UHMW Plastic Machining

12/11/2007 5:37 AM

I need someone to machine a few small prototype parts, piston and sleeve for a water handpump. The material is UHMW plastic. I have drawings. I am modifying a handpump so I can increase pressure to push water through a filter series. thanks, Rusty

Paul, thanks for the link. I did check it out. The kind of pump I am working on is for moving water from one tank through a series of filters and into another tank. it does require 40 to 60 psi to perform adequately. I think I am on to something that will work using closer tolerances and stiffer u-cups rather that the standard cup leathers. It just takes some time getting everything together. The goal is to have a long lasting, lightweight inexpensive pump. I really do think this is attainable. When I get to that point many could be used for different types of filtration devices where no other power source is available.
