Infrared Contact Lens

06/01/2025 10:20 AM

The link below tells of a contact lens that allows one to see in the dark.

It is still crude and under development, but will improve in due time.

Imagine being able to "see" in Xray and all rf frequencies.

It could happen and probably will.

This is only one step in the direction of humans merging with computers ,which IMHO is inevitable.

Eventually, we may be like the Borg, sharing all knowledge universally.

Here is the link. I could not edit it even though I had plenty of time left. It was only about 2 minutes later than my post when the edit timed me out.

Still having trouble with the link, I see.

I searched the thread title, got at least ten articles about this.

If you try ‘Buy infrared contact lenses’ another dozen hits or so come up, all ready to sell you these contacts (articles clearly state this is developing tech, not available yet) together with a pack of playing cards marked in IR ink. Marketed mostly as ‘Cheaters Cards’, a few sites are marketing as a magicians prop.

We (mankind) are lost, there is no hope for us.

Setting the scammers aside, this is pretty cool.

That’s pretty interesting,… this can be quite a … evolution.

as far as you comment…

Imagine being able to "see" in Xray and all rf frequencies

Too late…

I hate to go off topic a bit, but if I didn’t, I’d be inconsistent…

Birds of prey can see UV light to tract urine trails of rodents urine to hunt them down.

Embedding the link isn’t working…

https://peregrinefund.org/keen-vision#:~:text=Some%20rodents%20produce%20urine%20and,the%20raptors%20right%20to%20them.

I’m sure in some dilapidated building, in a dark smoke filled basement room that some R&D lab is working on this… if for anything, to track retired or ex-world leaders….

I suspect it works like the frequency doubler used in a green laser, a nonlinear medium that converts infrared to green.

I have used the phosphorescent cards to test infrared beam sensors, and the fluorescent ones as well. The difference is the phosphorescent ones have an afterglow, and the fluorescent ones have no afterglow.

The fluorescent and phosphorescent cards require precharging, as far as I know and the emitted photon would not be in the same direction, making it not suitable for imaging.

The frequency doubler would emit the green photon in the same direction as the infrared photon, as it does in a green laser.

This feature of Phos' vs Flou' is used to detect the difference in DC an AC light source, for auto-dimming of headlights, among other things, such as indica detection, counterfeit detection, tracking, sorting, etc. The Cards for flour' do need to be precharged but not so the fluorescent, and neither do the sensors for either.

This sounds like every 12-year-old boy's dream. X-ray vision.

In a TV programme I watched recently, one participant commented that they had had their eye lenses surgically replaced to overcome a problem. They remarked that the world now seemed very bright & they were certain that they could now see colours that were not available to them previously. I guess this would be because the lens material admits a greater range of wavelengths than the natural material.

It was probably cataract surgery. The old lens becomes cloudy and everything is dimmer, colors are less bright, poor night vision, and a host of other problems. I had cataract surgery 1 year ago, and it was a whole new world with the new lenses.
