Gravitational Time Dilation -- A Simple Explanation

06/11/2025 5:34 PM

Why do clocks run slower in a gravitational field? Here is an intuitive explanation.

A rotating vertical shaft shows me that time does not change with elevation. A rotating shaft used as a radius, or a pendulum rod, shows me that acceleration, velocity and that lack of velocity---- does not change time.

Only your clock ticker changes, not time. Relative motion causes an acceleration of distance, not time.

If you want to make a stable clock ticker, use rotation, not oscillation. The rotation incident to force, or a potential force, will not change. And allow a true time measurement.

Constant time----- is why the pendulum swings.

Hayseed physics.

Interesting and intriguing. Let's see where this leads. But not by me!!

When I fully precision rectify a carrier wave at the feedpoint of an antenna, it shows me that propagation is NOT a continuous frequency alternation. This is DC emission.

It shows me that EM propagation blinks. It blinks one photon for every 180 degrees inserted.

Of all the emissions in this cosmos, radio is unique. The intensity of a radio photon can be varied.

The intensity of IR, light, UV, x-ray and gamma is set and quantum. Atomic dipole emissions. The only way to vary the intensity is with increasing the amount of emitters. Amount of dipoles.

But with radio, the emitted photon’s intensity can be varied.

So for radio, the photon energy equation is BS. We can give the same photon 5 watts or 100,000 watts.

Light(and radio) has a duty cycle and is only half of what you think it is.

AND---- has an inverted duty cycle shift. An emitter shift(intermittence ratio) and a detector shift(intermittence rate). Two shifts in one.

New theory needed.

What exactly is it about matter that warps space time?

I think it is because spacetime has to take a longer path through matter than open space. A photon leaving the core of the sun takes millions of years to reach the surface because of the circuitous path it has to take around every subatomic particle. Matter is mostly space and electric fields. There is nothing really solid. A hammer striking a nail is simply one field pressing against another.

Light always takes the shortest path through spacetime.

We assume that the BB was a uniform spherical expansion, but what if it was not uniform? What if it had irregularities that show up now as warps or dents in spacetime and is really the source of Dark Matter.

These "dents" would attract and collect matter to form galaxies.

What if matter and antimatter repel each other ?That would explain why there is so little antimatter in our universe.

Jus' thinkin'...

(And a "Hatlo Hats Off" to Gentleman Jim for the suggestions.)

Newton came up with a formula that describes how gravity acts, but what causes it, he claimed to have no idea. Einstein came up with an equation that describes how warped spacetime causes gravity, a step closer.

But, you're right, there is still something missing. Why does matter warp spacetime?
