Reinforcing Mesh Insufficient Weld Strength or Excessive Weld Penetration

When the welding machine exhibits the above problems, the possible causes are as follows:

1. Weak weld joint: Welding current too low, or welding time too short.

2. Excessive weld penetration: Welding current too high, or electrode pressure insufficient.

3. Unstable weld joint quality: Severely worn electrode tips or an inefficient cooling system.

Knowing the cause, how can it be resolved?

Check the current and time: Ensure that the welding parameters you are using match the wire diameter and material. Fine-tune the current (amperage) and welding time (time) accordingly.

Re-grind or replace electrode tips: Check the electrode tips for dents or oxidation. If worn, immediately re-grind them using a dedicated grinding tool to ensure a smooth contact surface.

Cooling system: Ensure sufficient cooling water flow and that the water temperature is within the normal range. Overheated electrodes will severely degrade weld joint quality.
