A Universe of Bubbles

04/12/2026 8:04 AM

I can 't help but think that the universe is acting like a bubble rising from the depths.

It is increasing in size, speeding up as it rises, and becoming less dense.

A bubble bumping into a ledge, or other obstruction will pause or slow down until it clears the ledge, then speed up again.

A second bubble following will rise faster due to the drafting effect of the first bubble.

I wonder if there is a second, third or more bubble following our universe, or maybe we are not the first bubble?

The expansion of the universe does not require more energy from an unknown force, but is expanding from a decrease in outside "pressure".

Thoughts on this are most welcome.

A bubble model may explain observations but gravity is required to make a bubble rise.

Or accelleration.

Seems to be a lot of bubbles around DC.

Of course, when an alligator farts it will create bubbles.

Interesting idea but I don't think universe really have an outside or pressure like a bubble.

A pressure difference between "inside" and "outside" is not enough to explain why a bubble moves. We need a pressure differential/gradient for buoyancy to emerge. So, if the bubble moves, we have to explain why this gradient exists in the first place. It should be created by a force, right? Therefore, we try to remove the need of a force to explain expansion of the bubble, by assuming a force outside it.

Even if the bubble does not move, i.e. the outside pressure is spacially constant, we will have to assume temporal pressure change. This again requires an explanation.

In few words, I think that with just sweep the problem under the carpet, by delegating the cause of natural phenomena to super-natural agents (i.e. ones that lie beyond the Universe and its Laws).

Another issue I find in the logic, is that you assume that space-time exists outside the Universe in order to "give-way" to the expanding bubble. But is there any meaning for space-time to exist outside the Universe, since most probably it was created along with it? Otherwise, if there is space-time outside our Universe, then what separates it from the "outside" non-Universe world?

Emptiness can not expand or contract. It already fills infinity. The only common parameter of the omni shift is distance.

It’s just not time and distance that prevents star travel, it’s that we can not observe stars in real time. We don’t know where they are now, and we don’t know where they’ll be in years when we get there.

And if we try to follow starlight to a star, we have to be going faster than the star. And that curved route will be the longest path to that star.

This applies to all stars, even the closest one. Not Sol of course.

You said “It’s just not time and distance that prevents star travel, it’s that we can not observe stars in real time. We don’t know where they are now, and we don’t know where they’ll be in years when we get there.”

I dunno about that. Time and distance are pretty large hurdles for us to clear on a trip to Mars, and we have a pretty solid grip on the orbital mechanics of the planet.

The Voyager 1 probe is approaching one light-day from Mother Earth, 49 years after launch. As you say, time and distance are not the only things preventing star travel, but with technology available today these are problematic and persistent obstacles.

When light distance is short and the change in displacement(source V) is slow, the true location of the source, can’t be far away from where we see and detect it. And only a few course corrections are needed.

Our closest star is ~3LY away. And if that star is like ours, it’s going much faster than our planets. AND our crafts. And of course Sol is going much faster than the planets. Our craft will have a Sol’s V. component.

Following that other star’s light will take continuous course corrections. Lot’s of power. And lot’s of more time.

The only way to get there…. Is to know where they’ll be. ONLY one unique path. To a star.

Just a hayfield opinion, I’m no expert.

At present I think star mechanics, and so star navigation, is beyond us.

Modeling the universe so as to match observations, is a very ancient process - and quite fun, too. We used to think think that the sun revolved around the earth, and in fact, it's still embedded in our language as "sunrise" and "sunset". Our models have changed as we have made more observations. Problem is, that many of our minds are still embedded in Euclidean 3 space, whereas people like Minkowski and Einstein showed us that we needed to think in terms of space-time (4D). If we take our expanding universe and exprapolate observed constants, we find some rather distressing results, like a singularity 13.8 billion years ago that was so hot and dense that our models of physics simply do not work. Or we postulate a "dark energy" to account for an ever increasing rate of expansion. Personally, I can't wait for the next "big" development!!!

I can see why you’d make that comparison. The universe getting bigger and less dense does sound a bit like a bubble rising through water.

The tricky part is that, as far as we know, the universe isn’t actually sitting inside some bigger space with pressure pushing on it. Space itself is expanding, so the bubble analogy only goes so far.

I’ve always thought these kinds of ideas are worth kicking around, though. The interesting part is figuring out where the analogy fits the physics and where it starts to fall apart.

The red shift does not come from expansion. And the density of space is not changing.

Have any ever worked with a duty cycle? A duty cycle is a RATIO of presence and absence.

And it is usually thought of as a ratio of on time to off time.

Let’s invert that premise. And use a constant non changing on time……. And a changing or variable off time.

And what makes red shift appear the way it does….. is due to an instant dynamic.

The electric field travels at c. It will shine at a rate of ~1 foot in one nanosecond. The E and M field of a current conductor…. Will shine out from conductor at c.

If we turn on the current for 10 nano seconds, and then turn it off, the EM field will shine out to ~10 ft…. and then collapse back into the conductor. It blinks out to 10 ft and then drops back into conductor. This induces a return current….. and we use this for spark ignition.

This dynamic takes time. Expanding time and collapsing time.

But emission has a different dynamic. It has an expanding time, a field building time…….. BUT is has an instant collapse time. That’s because that built field is cut, separated from the charge source in the conductor.

Normally, in an AC circuit, the charge carriers flip and reverse…. When current is zero. This lets the field drop back into conductor.

But on an antenna….. those charge carriers are flipped at the max current. And that built field collapses out into space. Not back into conductor.

That cut, emitted built field is ½ WL long with ½ period duration. And it has a density gradient.

An instant emitted chunk of field. It’s discreet. And it took NO time to emit. This instant dynamic is what insures that light emissions are always at c. And that the emitter V is NOT added to the propagation V. They share NO time. A ball from a train shares V times. Light does not.

With no relative displacement, the emission is a 50% duty cycle. Half the time it’s on, and half the time it’s off. It takes ½ period to build and eject another field.

The detector is only stimulated with ½ period of field. And then the inertia of antenna…… responds with a ½ period reaction. Producing a full period response. Frequency comes from detection….. not propagation.

This is for one radio photon emitter. One antenna. Light is a flux of out of phase propagations from zillions of emitters.

As I have said before, photons are like a baled hayfield. The length of the bale is constant. The space between the bales….. is set with the velocity of the baler(emitter). The emitter speed sets the ratio of the blink. Ratio of on/off time.

The following hay bale pick up truck(detector) velocity….. sets the measured rate of that ratio emitter ratio.

The emitter V sets measured ratio….. detector V sets measured rate of that ratio.

Once one plays with and understands this dynamic, distance alone…… can cause this red shift.

Gravity does not bow starlight close to our sun. The sun’s invisible atmosphere does. Just like our visible atmosphere does.

Spacetime is the greatest fraud of all time.

So are you telling us that the conclusions of the Eddington Experiment (as well as numerous subsequent replications) are incorrect?

This, my friend, seems a bold assertion.

You are saying that Einstein’s General Theory remains invalidated.

[edit] And how do you know that the density of space is unchanging? I’ll consider this further, but this also seems a bold assertion.

With the present scientific philosophy of today, all dynamics and therefore all observed properties, of light, energy, matter, gravity, and space, are dependent on one pillar. That the impedance of space, set’s this “quantum” c velocity. And that the gravitational distortion of space can bow the path of light.

I believe that all EM fields are ALWAYS at c velocity. Spinning. When cut, they change direction in an instant, because they have no inertia and can do so. They fly straight out at c. In an instant one shot radial chunk. A single one radial direction disturbance.

The reason c is constant(quantum) is because the spin V are common. All photons are already at c. A photon is just a chunk of EM field. When preforming the function of mass and inertia, they spin together, when providing the function of light they separate, fly straight out. Only a small potion of inertia, the mass(particle EM field)…. Is converted and shed for light.

I have a radio antenna experiment to show this to you. If you are interested. No one seems to be.

You may go as fast as you want to thru space……. IF you can find an acceleration speed force for it.

Only acceleration velocity is needed for it. Can you use, find or make something faster than c?

As far as we know, gravity is at c too. It can’t push or pull any faster.

And the observed and measure light, from a distant star…… does vary in velocity. All other stars do. And we measure it all the time.

They just don’t know it. An intermittent velocity is a rated velocity. A superposition of asymmetrical rates. Ratio and rate of ratio.

I am describing duty cycle dynamics….. not continuous frequency dynamics.

Suppose the bubble is like a Klein bottle, only apprently expanding in 3D but actually converging back in on itself in 4D
