Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB)

For Industrial Switchgears, VFDs, the MCBs (Miniature circuit breaker) according to IEC 60898-1 can be used satisfying the short circuit requirements or only MCBs according IEC 60947-2 is acceptable?

This is to be used only in the control circuits.

In your case, follow the IEC 60947-2 standard, for industrial switchgear. The other is more for commercial and consumer operated equipment.

The main difference in IEC standard's application is only in the environment where the control circuit will be...

Which in my view means that you need to consider the maximum available power around the area where your control circuit will be installed and utilized..

Industrial environment which generally has a much higher available power levels that are readily available and present, in comparison to the limited power allotted and designated for the general household area of utilizations and/or applications.
