Is it possible to estimate or to get input for stress calculation for instance in exhaust system during it's resonance behaviour. Then you have to create calculation of structural deformation in this frequency point. I have developed calculation method based on OVA measurement when in certain orders (depending on engine cylinder number and combustions per revolution) and critical areas like for instance cat inlet the relative movement of neighbore points are calculated based on phase and amplitudes over time axis. With this method the real bending/torsion over certain critical area can be measured and calculated as numerical value. This value can be compared against stress levels considered as critical for material in certain Temperature and there are methods if the life cycles are known even precast the life time of this part. I have been using this method long time in exhaust systems but also in hangers (like between turbine and engine block) or even engine block torsions or gearbox movements against engine block, or optimising engine mountings.
