MVME 6100 BDFAIL LED STATUS

Hello, We have MVME 6100 board installed in one of our equipment and we have LED BDFAIL active when equipments are working.

is this situation normal?

  • What does the Operation and Maintenance Manual say?
  • What was the outcome of the telephone discussion with the original equipment manufacturer?

Is the equipment still under the Original Equipment Manufacturer's product warranty arrangements?

What has been tried so far?

The Emerson / Motorola MVME6100 Manual defines the yellow BDFAIL (Board Fail) LED as an indicator that the single-board computer has detected an internal hardware failure, self-test error, or a system-level fault condition. Having the BDFAIL LED lit while the equipment is running is not normal and typically indicates that either a hardware fault has occurred on the board or software has explicitly asserted the fail signal due to a detected exception.

It is not reassuring that you do not realize something is wrong, unless your programmer was derelict.
