Synthesis of Ethanol from Ethylene Hydrolisis

12/14/2007 10:15 AM

Dear colleagues

Which diagram of petrochemical process of ethanol obtained from hydrolisis of ethylene is available and profitable?

It is necessary for a grade thesis purpose.

Thanks

Dear Colleague,

That what you show is not a solution, it is like a sword of Damocles that is already threatening us until the security of our dear beings, this is, the global heating and their consequences of terrible catastrophes originated by the effect hothouse, which is the responsible one. There is in the world much necessity of alimentary supplies and to deviate the food sources for the energy creation starting from the combustion of BIOMASS is a responsibility in that respect besides that continuous contributing with the effect hothouse.
To extract the Ethanol starting from the natural gas or of the result of the cracking of the petroleum it is expensive but, Which will the cost of the recovery of the atmosphere of the planet be in the future?. The global economy has been affected by the result of the contamination of the atmosphere, which doesn't guarantee the supply of vital sources for the subsistence.
We should, when we establish a cost analysis, to include the future cost of the use of BIOMASS and derived fuels of the petroleum responsibly as for the impact of the environmental contamination.
My suggestion is the one of recommending new legislations that impute all responsibility to the use of sources of contamination for the energy obtaining.
It is pleasant to know that an entire technology already exists, defined as standard, to generate electric power starting from the hydrogen and the most important in this news is, the emissions are single water, that is to say, ZERO CONTAMINATION OF THE ATMOSPHERE.
Also, the Hydrogen is a renewable natural resource and we can extract it starting from the petroleum in anyone of its processes and of anyone of its products derived as, also, starting from the natural gas

best regards,

Whatever it is it would be the most expensive ethanol around.

the decline in oil is going to change the world. We will be forced inexorably towards cellulose and other sun based biomass for the building blocks of all manner of organics. Some synthesis chains will be doable, some too costly, and some impossible.

The use of coal and tar sands and oil shales will remain our last fossil resourcce.

sadly, these reserves are so large that their use will plateau oil at about $125 to $175/barrel in constant dollars. The tragedy of the commons will ensure that we will burn all of this in time.

Oil shale reserves.

I agree with you but, I understand it is to spenser to realize, the only purpose is for academy requeriments.

Nevertheless, I am designing a system that applied to the emission port of a motor of internal combustion, it can convert to CH3OH, CH3CH2OH, etc., by means of catalytic hydrogenation, in order to reduce the polution and to increase the yield of the fossil fuels.

I want to invite you to participate with me in this great project.

Best Regards,

Extraer el Etanol a partir del gas natural o del resultado del cracking del petróleo es costoso pero, ¿Cuál será el costo de la recuperación del ambiente del planeta en el futuro?.
