V = R (1-cosΘ/2)

where V is the versine, R is the radius and Θ the angle of the curve.

What is a pipe conveyor and what does the formula have to do with it?

thanks! the pipe conveyor is a tubular belt conveyor where the material closeing in it,but toward in both head and tiral pulleys the belt is opening ,i design a curve ,belt was turn in this way, so the coifences of resistanes between belt and rollers is very important,but i don"t no,what is the versine ? may be the length of curve?

The versine is a trigonometric function described here:

Versine, Coversine, & Haversine Defined This should allow you to now solve the equation for the angle theta.
