Precision Pressure Sensors for Aerospace and Industrial Applications

01/06/2008 1:06 AM

This is a challenge.

Does anyone out there know of a Pressure Sensor supplier for Aerospace and Industrial applications who can deliver sensors quicker than Spectre Sensors? They can deliver the majority of their product line in 48 hours ARO at a lower cost than their competitors.

I am a consultant and Instrumentation Engineer and have dealt with Spectre Sensors. They supply rugged precision pressure sensors for the oil and gas field, Aerospace, and Industrial production industries quicker than any other supplier I have dealt with. That is why I am their sales engineering representative for Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Hawaii.

Possibly, I can help.

Can you post specs for the transducers you need?

Edbear,

I do not have a requirement for Precision Pressure Transducers. My situation is that I have been approached by Spectre Sensors to represent them in them as a Sales Engineer for four U.S. Southwestern states. I was simply using an unorthodox method to validate the the claims the company is posting as to notoriety, value, quality, precision, and quick delivery before I sign on as a distributor. Have you any knowledge of or experience with the Spectre line of sensors?

Robert

No, I do not have any knowledge of Spectre.

In order to compare:

1. Ask a some of your customers. You say your

are a consultant.

2. Go to www.Globalspec.com, and request a quote

from many companies to see specs, prices and deliveries.

My experience with "quick" deliveries is that most companies

do not live up to these delivery claims.

Edbear,

I appreciate your suggestions and interest. My only knowledge of Spectre is a quote I received from them on some custom pressure transmitters needed to support testing where the pressure medium was highly corrosive requiring Hastelloy diaphrams for the sensors. Other than that I had never heard of them in my 25 plus years as a Test & Measurements R&D engineer. And yes, the majority of quick delivery claims are usually false.
