Out-of-print Schematics

04/12/2006 10:25 AM

I am trying to locate a source for older machine schematics. Currently we have a Chemtool Electro-Chemical Deburring machine, Model 350 V5, that we think is worth repairing. It would be easier with the electrical schematics. Since it is an older machine, and the company has changed hands, the schematics are not available through the usual sources. Any suggestions on how I could obtain this information would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry

I've exhausted every way I have of looking online for a copy of the schematics. The only other suggestion is to check with their distributors or see if anyone else you know who has the same piece of equipment might have a copy.

Yes I agree. Only a person still using the oldy can help if you give your email as well.

I suggest to contact OEM if some address is readable on "Plate" having info on the equipment.
It is rare to have URL on oldies plates, but you can search on line a very raerly known "Search Engine" at
It is really a fantastic search source.

Non-availability of original drawings -schematics

04/19/2006 11:41 AM

This is a very difficult issue but often experienced. Many times, original documentation of component parts, which may be critical parts of the main equipment, are not available. The vendor sends the documentation of the main equipment, but misses to include the details of bought out items, included in his package. This omission of documentation is noticed at late stage, when the repairs are needed. We take out those components, during turnarounds and do re-engineering'. Consultants are available who can do the 're-engineering'.Drawings and schematics are prepared based on data from the field. A perfomance test with newly developed documentation is carried out to establish integrity of the system, and retained for future records.
