Difference between DIN2501 and ANSI B16.5 fittings

Can any one explain me the difference between DIN2501 and ANSI B16.5 fittings. What are the dimensions of flanges, types of materials, differences in both the standards,different applications of both types.

Hi Macsimus,

The main differences are in dimensions and designation:

  • DIN flanges are designated per Nominal Diameter (mm) and PN (nominal pressure)
  • ANSI flanges (as other pipe fittings) are designated by NPS (Nominal Pipe Size in inches) and "Class." Each class valid for different combinations of design pressure and temperature.

You can find the dimensions getting the standards (paying for it) but most flange manufacturers used to include it in their catalogs, available in many cases through the web.
