Welding

Dear freinds

I was assigned with a question for my assignment which i am unble to work out..i think your experience will come handy to me ..below i am placing the question..try to help me out

Question:I am presuming that i could get a 100 ksi(700 MPa) yeild strength in a given "fairly simple" sheet steel in 3 different ways,but only one version would retain properties after welding.Discuss

I need the appropraite answer for this question...try to help me out

See my reply to your 'failure' post... this question is so vague as to be virtually meaningless in my opinion. I will quite happily bow to the superior mech' eng' experience and qualifications of other forum members if they can decipher what the question means.

Maybe you should question your lecturer as to what he actually means when he sets these assignments?

It must be as frustrating for you as it is irritating for us... we enjoy helping where possible!

I am sorry if my questions are making you frsutrated...this are the question that were been assigned to us ..i am not getting any helping hands from internet sources ...so i thought i can get help from the experience persons...

How bout cracking a book? Did you take notes in class?

Typically professors don't ask questions about material that has not either been covered in class or covered in the reading. You should not need to go to the internet at all IMHO.
