If it is timed, there are a lot of off the shelf devises that will do the job, a deer feeder comes to mind, it dispenses food for the deer to eat at programed time intervals..

The machine needs to be able to decide that there is a need for the abrasive and apply the correct amount?

2 variables( You can PreProgram?):

• mass per scoop.
• time inerval at which this mass is delivered to target.

You must decide whether you can achieve sufficient repeatability to meter by volume. If so, the problem is fairly simple. If you can't obtain required accuracy and repeatability by volume you will need to measure by weight. In either case, look at ammunition reloading equipment. It is designed to measure and dispense powder in about these quantities.

The material particles are 150 microns in average (very fine). It sticks to the surface of any metal layer. We are the company who does not manufacture or either design such machines, but I am looking for such type of machine to make a mixture of ceramic with water inside the metal caps of less capcity (426mm³). I have checked in lot of search engines and talked to lot of people in different companies all are worried about the metering and dispensing of an ceramic since it is very abrasive material.

It would be great if you could know some company who works in this field of engineering.

150 micron powder is not fine in the field of abrasives. If the powder is dry and has no electric charge, it should flow like beach sand and be easy to dispense (in spite of the fact that it is hard and abrasive). If you plan to mix it with water you may have to dispense it like toothpaste. Then the problem changes. Please describe in more detail. If you can't solve the problem, ship the abrasive to me and I'll use it in my sandblaster.

There are several companies that have machines that are able to dispense the small quantities that you are after but their concern is the abraisive material. You may want to check out their feed system to see if they are easily removable (bowl, etc.) and consider those items as wear items. Before using I would suggest coating them with a non-abraisive material, low frictional coefficient and high hardness. You may be able to find the coating at www.magnaplate.com . Bridging will be an issue which needs to be addressed at the design stage. A combination of an auger and air burst line may be appropriate but there are other methods. Good luck.
