HELP FOR DESIGNING BLOWER AND CALCULATING CAPACITY OF id BLOWER FANS

01/27/2008 6:34 AM

Hello friends,

I want the formula to calculate the capacity in cfm of a suction blower (ID FAN).

sample blower specs : Dia of Impeller - 24", Nos of blades - 12, Width of impeller 12", Inlet of impeller 12", Outlet of blower duct - 16"x14", inlet of blower duct - 10", Hp of motor - 20 HP, RPM of motor - 1400 RPM

Vice versa I want to knw how to design a suction blower fan to draw 25000 cfm air via round duct of 14" dia running 200 fts in length. (or else you can take other necessary dimensions) Basically i want to know the formulas.

Thanks in advance, Jain Ajay

Why don't you look in a data sheet from a manufacturer? There is not a formula for this handling fluids is a complex problem and it will always be better to ask for a delivery instead of making a design which has too many chances to be a failure.

In the data sheets you have all what a user can want to have to solve his problem and the manufacturer normally brings his help and it is a professional help since he has the experience you do not have.

If it is a "problem" then it is most probably a home work for school in this case the best for you is to make the effort to learn going along the path i indicated.

This is not a place where professionals do the home work of different students. We can give recommendations, hints we can counsel but not do the work you have to do it will not be the right help for your personal development.
