What is the advantages & disadvantages between direct coupled & gear box coupled turbo generator sets?

Raju,

I have to ask. If you are the operation and maintenance manager at a power station, why don't you already know all this stuff you are asking about?

This is the fourth or fifth post asking about things that are pretty basic in the field of turbine engineering...

Hi Raju - If your question is lack of capacity related advise your superiors that fitting a gearbox may be the only way of restoring some power.
