You two Guests could work together on this.

Hi, Guest.

Are you the same Guest as the one who wants to know how to write the assembly code program for PWM control?

Don't want to dampen your enthusiasm - but you're heading for a lot of nasty bangs & lots of smoke tackling this as a first project. I strongly advise you to (a) start with a much simpler project (say, PWM control of a small DC motor), and (b) concentrate on either the software or the hardware first - doing both from scratch will give you no end of frustration, trying to fathom which bit is at fault.

This site should help you.

If buying a variable speed drive is not a suitable option then I think you are out of luck as you are not going to be able to build one given your indicated level of electrical knowledge.

Perhaps a little more information on why you want to (modulate?) an inverters (input, output?) voltage would help.
