dc motor take -ve load when running as a motor

We got 8 dc motor connected in 4 parallel lines ( 2 motors in series). Noticed, on one line takes negative load and the other three lines takes positive load. Please explain, how the motor run as a generator (negative load) when other takes positive load. thanks

Do these negative load motors fail to drive load, or could the load sensing voltmeters have a polarity problem, perhaps reversed leads at the shunt?

Or could the negative load motors be set up for the opposite rotation than they should be, and are being driven by the machine?

You would probably have fixed the problem if you knew what you are doing, nd it would appear that you don`t as you cannot even see that the amount of info supplied cannot possible lead to an answer or fix from most CR4 members!!
