why diamond and copper has dissimalar crystal structures...???
what is the difference between diamond cubic and Copper Fcc structures,.??

Both have Face centered cubic (FCC) structures.

The diamond has a covalent bonding sp3 holding the atoms together. The covalent bonding is a direccional bonding and this feature defines the spacial arragement of the atoms. On the other hand the copper has a metallic bonding which is ruled by packing efficiency, as a result it has a FCC unit cell. Eventhough both materials have a cubic unit cell they are different; FCC has 4 atoms/cell and diamond has 8 atoms/cell.
