Will the heat transfer be effective if a single phase cold liquid in the tube side is replaced by a two phase liquid

The coefficient for pure water is typically good; therefore, it will likely be used in lieu of a two phase fluid.

The coefficient for glycol/water mixtures (ethylene, propylene, TEG, etc.) & oils (vegetable, lube, etc.) are typically much lower; therefore, a two phase replacement fluid may be beneficial.

I hope this helps.
