Cable Harnessing

02/12/2008 11:37 AM

I am working on electrical integration with cable harnessing as the main task apart from design. It is observed that it takes a lot of time preparing schematics for cable harnesses/ electrical integration drawings. I want to know if there are suitable software to design cable harness data and then maintain versions with the changes made with time.

Try and search for Pro-Harness. I think this is what your looking for but it will cost you. I work for a generator company and they are starting to integrate this program into our daily work. It makes life so much easier when it comes to drawing up harness's for suppliers. Parts come in as modeled blocks and you only have to state the cable size etc. Depending on the size of your company if you can afford this software you may need to send parts away to an offshore modeling company, or if the resource is available you may do it yourself.

This may not be the software for but im sure their are other software out there. Its worth a look.

You can try Zuken for their cable and harness tool. It is a tool we are currently implementing. We were not as happy with L-Cable.

Miracle Electronic’s is one of the best leading Manufacturing of Wire Harness / cable harnesses provide several advantages over loose wires and cables. Masses of wires in a home / commercial appliance or in an automobile or even in an aircraft would stretch over a considerable distance if extended and can be quite difficult to repair, maintain or even to replace. Miracle Electronic’s Cable harnesses provide a compact, intelligent yet simple way to bind numerous associated wires and cables into a cable harness. Our wire harnesses not only provide a more organized way of managing the tangles of wires, but also make them better secured against the adverse effects of vibrations, abrasions, and moisture.
