Silver Nanoparticles Fight Microbes

05/09/2006 9:44 AM

An anonymous coward writes:
Silver nanoparticles may be improving your life in ways you've never imagined. The antimicrobial properties of silver nanoparticles are being exploited for everything from infection control in medical instruments and dressings to odor control in sportswear. Such nanoparticles may be killing bacteria and inhibiting mold growth in your refrigerator, brooms, HVAC filters, or even food containers. Read the Bourne Research study to find out more about this high growth area of nanotechnology.

Silver?

05/17/2006 4:22 PM

I've been hearing a lot about how silver is good at fighting infections. I had a bad burn a few years ago they gave me a silver cream to keep it sanitized. Anyone know why silver has this property?
