Did you ever use a public laundry and have to wait around because there were no machines available, or find your clothes strewn about when you went to take them out of the dryer because somebody got impatient? That's a thing of the past at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York (my alma mater). All of the clothes washers and dryers on campus are hooked up to the campus network and availability can be viewed using something called LaundryView. Check out the full story and video here.
