New Tricycle - cool and safe

Designers at Purdue university have created the SHIFT - a new styled tricycle that turns into a bicycle when it is brought up to speed. Lead designer, Scott Shim, won the $15,000 first prize at the 9th International Bicycle Design Competition in Taiwan. He hopes to have it developed commercially soon as a number of manufacturers have expressed interest in the design.

Tricked out tricycle

Wow, that is a freaking looking bike. If it is available for sale then you have this problem to address: either it helps your kid learn to ride quicker, so they'll want a "real" two-wheeled bike (so that was an expensive set of training wheels), or it doesn't help kids learn, and your kid will be known as the one riding the freakest looking bike on the block.

I think you're right. They would do better to size it up for adults.
