Designers at Purdue university have created the SHIFT - a new styled tricycle that turns into a bicycle when it is brought up to speed. Lead designer, Scott Shim, won the $15,000 first prize at the 9th International Bicycle Design Competition in Taiwan. He hopes to have it developed commercially soon as a number of manufacturers have expressed interest in the design.
